Medicare is a federal health insurance program for:

  • People age 65 and older
  • Younger individuals with certain disabilities

It helps cover hospital care, doctor visits, prescription drugs, and other healthcare needs.

Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) starts:

  • 3 months before your 65th birthday
  • Includes your birthday month
  • Ends 3 months after

If you miss this window, you may have to wait and could face late penalties.

  •  Part A: Hospital insurance (inpatient care, skilled nursing, hospice)
  • Part B: Medical insurance (doctor visits, outpatient services, medical equipment)
  • Part C: Medicare Advantage (private plans combining A & B, often with extra benefits)
  • Part D: Prescription drug coverage
  • Medigap: Optional supplemental insurance for those with Original Medicare

Medigap helps cover costs that Medicare doesn’t, like copays and deductibles.
It only works with Original Medicare, not Medicare Advantage.

Not sure if it’s right for you? We’ll go over that in your personalized review.

Yes! You’re not locked in for life.

You can make updates during:

  • The Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7)
  • A Special Enrollment Period, if you lose other coverage or qualify for changes outside the regular window

Good news — if you or your spouse are still working and have employer-provided health insurance, you may be able to delay some parts of Medicare without penalty.

Let’s discuss how your current benefits fit with Medicare so you don’t pay for coverage you don’t need.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Let’s sit down together and walk through what matters to you—your health needs, your doctors, and your peace of mind.
